Birch Bay is a sleepy beach community in the winter months, but comes alive in the summer. The bay itself is a protected bay of the east shore of the Salish Sea. Located 21 miles northwest of Bellingham and just over 7 miles south of the Canadian border. Home to Birch Bay State Park and Birch Bay Waterslides, this area is perfect for a day in the sun, weekend camping, beach-combing, and riding bikes up and down the shoreline- make sure to stop at the C Shop for an ice cream cone! Walk out for what seems like miles on the sandy bay floor at low-tide, due to an extremely gentle slope of the beach. Park alongside the beachfront Birch Bay Drive on a stormy day and watch the waves!
